DIY Spot
Also known as: diy
A spot built by skaters themselves, usually without permission, with hand-mixed concrete.
Extended definition
A DIY spot is a place the community itself builds with concrete, picks and weekend graft, almost always under a bridge or on waste ground and with no official permission. Beyond the obstacle, it's one of the purest things in skate culture: making your own spot when the city won't give you one. Burnside (Portland) or Lulu (Barcelona) are mythical references.
