Concave
The transverse curve of the deck. Runs from "low" (mellow) to "high" (steep). Defines how much it "hugs" your foot.
Extended definition
More concave = more grip for technical flips but less comfy for cruising. Less concave = more freedom but less response. Most modern decks sit at medium concave.
