Kicktail
The upward curve of the board's ends (nose and tail). It's what lets you do ollies and tricks.
Extended definition
Invented by the pioneers of modern skating. Without kicktails the board would be flat and you couldn't do a single trick. Some longboards have tiny kicktails or none.
